Steve Holt has led
a diverse life.
In the world of music, Steve has had an international reputation as one of Canada’s
leading pianists. His 1983 debut album "The Lion's Eyes" won critical acclaim around the world and was nominated for a JUNO
Award (Canadian equivalent of a GRAMMY). Since then Steve has recorded 6 albums and performed with many of the legendary names in music. In 2002 Steve won an Honorable
Mention at the prestigious USA Songwriting Competition, the largest songwriting competition in the world.
During those same
years, Steve was a Senior Equity Analyst at several of the largest banks in Canada, becoming the #1 ranked consumer analyst in the country by 1999. In
that capacity he met regularly with senior management and government officials in Canada,
the U.S. and Europe. His work culminated
in published research reports which were distributed to institutional investors around the world. Steve has been a keynote
presenter and speaker at conferences, and has made numerous appearances on national and regional television.
In his later years
Steve became a competitive bodybuilder and fitness guru. Known as The Vegetarian Bodybuilder,
he currently holds eight bodybuilding championship titles. Steve entered his first competition in March 2000 at the age of
46 and won first prize in his class at the Ontario Natural Championships in 2004. In 2006 he placed 2nd in his class at the
CBBF World Qualifier held in Toronto. Steve has been a vegetarian
for 27 years, rare in the world of competitive bodybuilding where a diet rich in red meat is common, and he is a lifetime
natural bodybuilder having never used anabolic steroids. He has written articles for magazines including Natural Bodybuilding
& Fitness, and maintains a busy web forum at www.vegetarianbodybuilder.com. Steve is currently living in Toronto.
